Express Digital Launches PhotoReflect.com New Internet-Based Storefront for the Professional Photographer
DENVER, Colo., December 6, 1999 - Responding to the
professional photographers' tremendous demand for a web-powered
selling tool, Express Digital announced today the launch of
a revolutionary Internet-based distribution channel - PhotoReflect.com.
Armed with an Internet storefront, the photographer can now
sell photographs 24 hours a day, seven days a week to an increased
client base.
In addition to selling photographs, the photographer will
earn new revenue in the form of commissions on photo accessories
purchased online, such as frames, T-shirts, mugs and more.
They can also use PhotoReflect.com to present their portfolio
to the world on the Internet. It's easy. It's instant. And
it works whether the photographer shoots with traditional
film or a digital camera.
"PhotoReflect.com is a perfect opening into digital photography,"
said Graham McFarland, CEO of Express Digital. "Photographers
can make more money by having an Internet storefront, and
they can strengthen their relationships with customers because
PhotoReflect.com is so easy to use. Photographers can spend
more time shooting pictures, and less time dealing with business
hassles." -more- Express Digital - PhotoReflect.com launch
Page two of three PhotoReflect.com is powered by Express Digital,
an innovative digital photography software and Internet services
company. The tools Express Digital has created enable the
photographer to shoot, enhance, archive and fulfill digital
photographs within minutes anywhere, anytime.
Now that the photographs are available on the web, customers
can not only preview and purchase photographs and photo accessories,
but they can electronically share photographs with family
and friends by sending electronic postcards. PhotoReflect.com
has several security features to protect the photographs.
All photographs are watermarked, and photographers have the
option to password protect their photographs. Here's how PhotoReflect.com
works.
Step one - digitize the photograph. If the photographer shoots
with traditional film, he takes the photographs. He scans
them from prints or negatives, or he takes them to a lab to
be digitized and put on a CD. If the photographer uses a digital
camera, then he simply shoots the photographs and archives
them.
Step two - publish the photograph. Photographers publish the
digitized photographs to their own Internet storefront at
PhotoReflect.com, using PhotoReflect.com's Publisher software,
which is included in the subscription cost. Now customers
and their families and friends can preview and purchase all
the photographs taken.
Step three - receive the order. After previewing the photographs,
customers can order them instantly in a variety of package
options, simply by logging on to PhotoReflect.com. Powerful
search engines let customers locate their photographs by date,
photographer and occasion. Photographers receive orders via
e-mail.
Step four - fulfill the order. If the photographer has a photo
quality digital printer, he just prints the customer's order
in his own lab. If the photographer does not have a photo
quality digital printer, which is available as part of the
Express Digital solutions package, he simply goes to a photo
lab to fulfill the customer's order. Express Digital collects
the payment via its secure server and sends a check to the
photographer.
"There is no getting away from it, Internet distribution is
the future," said McFarland. "Revenue opportunities are endless.
Photographers, for the first time, have an Internet storefront
where customers can shop anytime."
The service is available now to existing Express Digital customers
and will be available to all photographers starting on February
1, 2000. The subscription kit includes unlimited web space
on PhotoReflect.com, PhotoReflect.com's Publisher software
and the Photographer's Marketing Guide, created by Express
Digital.
Contract negotiations are currently underway with large entertainment,
amusement, mall and tourist operators to open their Internet
storefronts on PhotoReflect.com. It is estimated that in the
year 2000, PhotoReflect.com will sign up more than 5,000 professional
photographers, who will publish more than ten million photographs
available to their customers.
