How to Use the New Digital Delivery Wizard
in Darkroom 8.9

Summary:

This article explains How to Use the New Digital Delivery Wizard in Darkroom 8.9

Workaround/
Troubleshooting:

The new Digital Delivery Wizard allows for the output of images to CDs, DVDs, and Flash cards.  Images can be outputted to each media type as unedited images, enhanced images, or a slideshow.  To access the Digital Delivery Wizard, simply right click either on an individual image within a catalog or on the catalog name and select Create Digital Media from the drop down menu.

There are four separate tabs within the Digital Delivery Wizard: Format, Slideshow, Extra Files, and Summary.

The Format section contains the settings for making a simple CD or DVD.  The first item on the screen is the Destination Information, which allows you to choose which location you want to copy or burn images to.

The second item is the Image Format selection.  This will allow you to choose whether you wish to flatten the image, which creates a copy of the image with all changes saved to it in the same format; simply copy the image, which will create a copy of the selected files in the location chosen without any changes; or convert the image to a different file type.  If you have used the Save as New Photo option when editing your images, you will want to skip the simple copy option, as that will just export a .edf file that is not usable as a photo.
The third item is the Image Size selection, which allows you to choose what size image you want to place on the digital media selected.

The final item within this tab is the Advanced Options.  At this time, the only option is to add a watermark to each image that is outputted to the selected digital media.

The Slideshow tab contains the settings to add a slideshow to your digital output.
To enable the slideshow option, simply check the box next to the question “Would you like to add a slideshow to the digital media?”  Once the slideshow option is enabled, you can edit the options of the slideshow itself.  The first option determines the length of time each image will be on the screen.   The second option adds a fade in/out after each image.  The third option allows you to add music to your slideshow in mp3 format, just click the browse button to locate the music file to be added.  The last option allows you to add a folder containing promotional or stock images to the slideshow that will be interspersed between the customer’s images.

The Extra Files tab allows you to select another folder of images to add to the digital media.  Checking the box at the top enables the options and you simply browse to the folder you want to include with the selected images.

The Summary tab shows you a list of all the options you’ve selected for the creation of your digital media.
